Gratitude, Peace, and Tears of Joy in Reno

Greetings my fellow Jin Shin Jyutsu and animal-loving friends,
Last week, my heart was filled with joy while teaching at the beautiful Balance Point Equestrian Center outside of Reno, Nevada. I was grateful for many reasons, including the opportunity to co-teach with faculty member Cary Voorhees. Wonderful students, horses, and dogs gathered together to share the harmony and peace-giving work of Jin Shin Jyutsu.
There was a palpable sense of peace created through our shared work, and I found myself deeply moved by the power of coming together as a community of Jin Shin Jyutsu and animal lovers. Thirty years ago, I could only imagine something like this. Now we truly have the ability together — to help change how animals and people share their lives.
And then came an extra gift…
Wild horses appeared along the roadside on the way to class! The sight brought tears to my eyes and a profound exhale of gratitude. There is something deeply moving about seeing horses living freely against that vast Nevada landscape. In that moment, they felt like a quiet mirror of the beauty, connection, freedom, and aliveness that can arise when we share energy consciously with the animal kingdom.

On a far more intimate note about how this work can shape everyday life, Bob has now been part of our family for seven months. Bob is a five-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback who came to us from Alaqua Animal Refuge after hip and knee surgery, unable to use
his right hind leg.

These months have been filled with daily Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions, physical therapy, patience, hope, occasional worry… and so much gratitude. Watching him gradually regain about 90% use of that leg has been nothing short of extraordinary. Healing rarely moves in a straight line, but Bob continues to remind me of the resilience, determination, and spirit animals carry within them.
Living beside an animal moving through recovery changes you. It deepens your listening. It teaches humility. And once again, it confirms for me how profoundly Jin Shin Jyutsu can support both body and spirit.
Looking ahead, classes are coming up this July in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany, and I would love to see some of you there. There are still spaces open in all three classes at the moment. You can find all the details here on my website and register by reaching out to the organizers: https://www.jsjforyouranimal.com/classes.
Ready to make room for this Art in your everyday life? Drop me a note and tell me how you are sharing the work with animals or make plans to come to class. Or perhaps even more fun…Are you ready to organize a class and bring either me or one of the wonderful faculty members of Jin Shin Jyutsu for Your Animal Companion to your area?
We currently have faculty sharing the work throughout the United States, Canada, and Germany. Classes can be held in all sorts of settings — barns, veterinary offices, shelters, living rooms, wellness centers, rescue organizations, and community spaces.
Sometimes all it takes is one person saying, “I think people here would love this.” The animals seem remarkably good at helping the right people find one another.
Sending love to you and all the beings who share your world,
Adele
